FOREWORDS

We, first of all, are very grateful to God the almighty for his endless mercy and are extremely pleased for publishing this first edition of the International Journal of Education (IJE). This is not to exaggerate, as up to now, the organization of educational profession in this country has not had even a single international journal. This International Journal of Education is published by FORMOPPI (Communication Forum for Educational Profession Organization of Indonesia) in cooperation with BKS IKA-FIP (Alumni Association Cooperation Board of Pedagogy Faculty all over Indonesia) after a consultation with the Director General of Higher Education and with full support and assistance from the Minister of National Education, his excellency Mr. Bambang Sudibyo.

This IJE is expected to become a means for exchange of information, experiences and ideas on education among experts, policy makers, practitioners, and those concerned with education world wide. The IJE is to be published twice a year, that is, to celebrate the Teacher National Day in November and to welcome the National Education Day in May. Let’s make use of this journal to improve the implementation of more equally distributed, quality, relevant, and efficient national education for all. We, therefore, extend our sincere gratitude and acknowledgement to the honorable Minister of National Education of Republic of Indonesia, General Sectretary and Head of Research and Development, Department of National Education, and the Director General of Higher Education for their unlimited support and assistance. Our thanks also go to writers, authors, and other parties that have made the publishing of this International Journal of Education possible. Again, we hope that God’s blessing always goes hand in hand with our educational efforts for the betterment of education in our country.
